Annual Pony Express Ride Re-enactment
Relive the
excitement of 100 years ago as skilled horsemen
bring the United States Postal Service mail from
Deerfield to Garden City, Kansas. More than 35
officers are sworn in during the opening
ceremony at noon in the parking lot at the
Finney County Fairgrounds. The officers are
dispersed over the 20 mile course and the mail
delivery begins at 1 pm in Deerfield. There are
plenty of photo opportunities along the Arkansas
River as the horses blaze by as they deliver the
mail.
